Moving one thing should not be complicated
PORTR exists because parcel networks cannot move big items and removals companies will not give a single-item quote. A sofa is too big for one and too small for the other, so it falls between them. That gap is the whole business.
What PORTR is
PORTR is a booking platform for door-to-door transport of furniture, boxes and personal belongings across mainland UK. You enter your addresses, tell us what you are moving, and the platform sizes the vehicle, works out the handling time and produces a fixed price you can book immediately.
The whole point is to remove the parts of this process that waste your time: the phone calls, the site surveys, the callbacks that never come, and the quotes that arrive as a single number with no explanation of how it was reached.
How we operate
PORTR is a new service, and we would rather tell you that than pretend otherwise. What that means practically: our pricing engine, booking flow and payment handling are live and working, our coverage focuses on the routes we can service properly, and we would rather decline a job than take a booking we cannot deliver well.
Card payments are handled by Stripe. PORTR never stores your card details on its own servers.

Price before commitment
You should know what something costs before you hand over any details. Every PORTR quote is fully itemised and free to obtain.
No invented social proof
You will not find fabricated review counts, star ratings or customer totals on this site. When PORTR has genuine reviews from real bookings, they will appear here — and not before.
Say what is not included
We are a transport service. We do not assemble furniture, plumb in appliances or remove doors. Being clear about that up front is more useful than being vague to win a booking.
Access is priced honestly
Stairs, lifts and long carries change how long a job takes. We ask about them when you book so nothing is renegotiated on your doorstep.
