Your delivery day checklist

A delivery that runs smoothly nearly always looks the same: someone is in, the item is ready, the route is clear and there is somewhere to stop the van. Here is the short version.

Before the window opens

Make sure a responsible adult will be present at both ends, or that you have given the driver a named contact and number for the other address.

Have the item fully prepared: emptied, secured, wrapped where needed, and standing where the driver can reach it without moving three other things first.

Parking and access

Identify where the van can legally stop, and if you have a permit or a bay, have it available. In controlled parking zones, a suspended bay or visitor permit saves a great deal of time.

Prop open communal doors if that is permitted, and make sure any lift is not booked out for someone else's move.

During the collection and delivery

Walk the driver through the item and the route once, briefly. Point out anything fragile before it is lifted rather than after.

If you have booked Room of Choice, decide in advance exactly where the item is going and clear that space.

Payment and paperwork

If you paid a 50% deposit online, the balance is due once the job is complete. Your confirmation states the figure and the bank details, or we charge the card you saved if you authorised that. Cash is accepted on request.

Keep your booking reference to hand. It is the fastest way for our team to find your job if anything needs discussing.
